Kimiyo Harris Williams, M.D. is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Educating her patients and encouraging healthy habits have been the foundational framework of her practice of medicine. She strongly supports health advocacy and empowers her patients and their parents to be intentional regarding their health and wellness. Personally, Dr. Williams cherishes being a wife, a mother of two and bonus mother of three and grandmother of four. She is passionate about cultivating relationships both personally and professionally. Her personal quote is “Self-love is healthy living.”
She graduated cum laude, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Pre-Medicine from Xavier University of Louisiana. Shortly thereafter, she received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed her pediatric residency training at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans and LSU Health Sciences Center Pediatric Residency Program. Dr. Williams has experience in biomedical research as a Research Associate in Pulmonary Critical Care at LSUHSC. Dr. Williams’ career includes both academic and clinical medicine over the past 20 years.
Dr. Williams has served as a faculty member at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital’s Family Practice Residency Program in Albany, Georgia as well as serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Mercer University School of Medicine. Thereafter, she became a partner in a large pediatric group and then co-founded, owned and operated her own private pediatric practice. She has practiced pediatric medicine for over 20 years. She was appointed in a volunteer role as a Public Health Promotion Ambassador by the Louisiana Department of Health. Additionally, Dr. Williams as served on several academic and non-profit boards. She currently serves as a Co-chair of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) All of Us Research Program Louisiana Regional Advisory Board. She is affiliated with the Delta Research and Educational Foundation Research Matters for All of Us Program under the NIH All of Us Research Program. Dr. Williams has been the President and CEO of K.H. Williams Enterprises, INC. since 2010. K.H. Williams Enterprises, Inc. is a professional physician consulting corporation. The corporation’s mission is to provide a resource of health and wellness via medical expertise, organizational leadership, advocacy, research and education. Dr. Williams’ passion for improving healthcare outcomes via advocacy, research, education and policy change compelled her to transition her career to include research and advocacy. She is currently a member of the Core Leadership Team in the campaign for an Office on Women’s Health in the Louisiana.
